1. What are your "love seats"?
The arm rest can be pulled up so that you can snuggle up with your partner. Warning--remove your drink from the arm rest BEFORE you lift it up. The bottom of the arm rest is padded as well as the area between the seats to make being close to your partner very comfortable. Love seats are currently available in the Park Theatre and Fifth Avenue Cinemas.
2. Are you still part of the Alliance Atlantis Cinemas chain?
No. Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Park Theatre and Ridge Theatre are now independently owned and operated by Festival Cinemas.
Festival Cinemas started with the Ridge Theatre in 1978 and has operated the Vancouver East Cinema, Varsity Theatre, Starlight Cinema, Park Theatre, and Fifth Avenue Cinemas. Leonard Schein (the president of Festival Cinemas) also started the Vancouver International Film Festival at the Ridge. Now, Festival Cinemas operates the Fifth Avenue Cinemas, the Park Theatre and The Ridge Theatre.
3. Do you discount tickets on Tuesdays?
Yes! All shows, all tickets

4. Do you have student rates?
Yes, with valid ID, all shows $8.71 plus HST = $9.75
5. Do you have senior rates?
Yes, 65 years and older, all shows $7.59 plus HST = $8.50
6. Do you have youth rates?
Yes, from 14 to 17 years old, all shows $8.71 plus HST = $9.75
7. Do you have children's
rates?
Yes, all shows, $7.59 plus HST = $8.50
8. Do you have discount
prices on weekday matinees?
Yes. Weekday matinees Monday through Friday (except Holidays) before 3:00pm are $7.59 plus HST = $8.50. Other weekday matinees (except holidays) are $8.71 plus HST = $9.75
9. What's the easiest
way to find out about new movies and showtimes at the Park, Fifth Avenue
and Ridge Theatres?
Register for Festival Cinemas weekly email newsletter (left column of this page) with current and future movie listings and showtimes.
10. Do you use Golden
Topping on your popcorn?
No, we use only real butter (and at no extra cost).
11. What Sound System
do you use?
Dolby Digital on all screens.
12. Are you air-conditioned?
Yes, both Fifth Avenue Cinemas and The Park Theatre have an air conditioned lobby and auditorium. The Ridge is not air conditioned.
13. When can we
buy tickets on the day of the show?
Our box office opens 30 minutes before the first show of the day and stays open all day/evening until the last show of the day is playing.
Tickets are also available online. Just print out your purchase receipt at home and show it to the ticket taker at the theatre. You can buy tickets online for all Festival Cinemas Theatres. Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Park Theatre, Ridge Theatre.
If you forget your print out, show the credit card you used to purchase the the online reservation or your receipt number to the box office to pick up a ticket.
Tickets may also be purchased 24/7 at the ATM machines at The Park and Fifth Avenue Cinemas.
14. Can we buy advance
tickets?
Yes, you can buy tickets at our box offices up to a week in advance as well as online at TICKETING
Standing in line is a thing of the past. When you buy your tickets online you not only guarantee a seat before you leave home but you can print your ticket out at home and go straight to the front of the line to enter the theatre. It doesn't get any more convenient than this.
15. Can we use Visa,
MasterCard, or Interact cards?
Yes.
16. Are your theatres wheel chair
accessible?
Yes The Park Theatre, and Fifth Avenue Cinemas are both fully
wheel chair accessible.
The Ridge is only parlty accessible (the washrooms are not).
